Goodbye Delarey

Delarey Myburg is a guy that does not speak much, but if he opens his mouth he talks sense and his words carries a lot of weight. Maybe it is because his words are backed by a his lifestyle. True to this, we recieved an e mail from Delarey recently...

We got news from Delarey, the currenct Treasurer of Bloemfontrein Gliding Club, that he will resign from his position at the end of June 2006. Pieter Rademeyer the CFI, remarked the following: "This is extremely unfortunate to lose a guy with his impeccable sense of honesty and fairness" about Delarey.

A form of consolation to such sad news, is the fact that Delarey will be donating his Ka8, ZS-GON, to the club spesifically to provide an aircraft for the Ka7 students who goes solo. It does not just happen every day that a person gives his glider away and especially for the development of other pilots who succeed him!

On behalf of Bloemfontein Gliding Club we want to thank you sincerely for all your years of unselfish service in the Club and for always giving your best in whatever you did. We will surely notice the gap you leave in BGC! About the glider we can only say: Thank you! People have been training in Ka7's and Ka8's for many years, and we know that they will do that for many years to come!

Delarey also passed a word of thanks to the instructers who taught him to fly. We do hope that it is goodbye and not farewell!
