What does it mean to be a Member of BGC? |

Being a new member means that you are a "pupe". It also means that you
will become part of the BGC family. On every Sunday and most public
holidays, there will be an instructor to show you the ropes (Or the
sticks). The club also has various facilities like a swimming pool, bar
and braai. Club members are also expected to do work levy, and help
with the operations of the club. On a typical day, you may do a few
flights, help the the other pupes get strapped up and launched,
fetch the cable or fetch a glider after it landed. You will also learn
how to care for the aircraft, and how to clean it. Most of all, you
will learn how to fly. All the regular flight maneuvers are included,
as well as the more exciting stalls, spins and steep turns. Bring your
sunblock, hat and sunglasses. The big thing is that you are entitled to
have fun!
